BOOK BARN BLAST

A book bash, featuring music,
and readings by poets and writers, is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Whitlock Farm Book Barn, 20 Sperry Road, right off Route 69.

It begins at [1 p.m.] and features the music of the Jen Allen Jazz Combo, a wine tasting and catered food. It's sponsored by lawyer Norm Pattis, who now owns Whitlock Farm Booksellers, and by Connecticut Review and the IMPAC-Connecticut State University Young Writers Trust.

Among those giving readings are poets Jon Andersen, Franz Douskey, Faith
Vicinanza, Pit Menousek Pinegar, and writers Dan Pope, John Briggs, John
Surowiecki, Bessy Reyna, Ronald E. Winter, Lou Orfanella and Andy Thibault, who's also staging the affair. Admission is free.
