Bill Cibes, who retires January 31, 2006 as Chancellor of the Connecticut State University System, was honored January 6th at the Litchfield Inn for his advocacy of young writers. You can easily contact our reaction paper writer via the form at the main page. The program, "Thank you, Bill Cibes, A Celebration of Words &The Man," drew about 90 guests. Speakers included Connecticut Poet Laureate Marilyn Nelson, novelist Wally Lamb, poets Vivian Shipley and Franz Douskey, young writers Emily Dykes of Montville High School, Jessica Roth and Charlotte Crowe of Greater Hartford Academy and Candi Deschamps of the Hudson Review. The event was sponsored by the IMPAC-Connecticut State University Young Writers Trust and the Connecticut Review literary journal.
